Purpose of the Job :
 

The Network Administrator / Help Desk is part of the IT team and is dedicated to maintaining the functionality of our computer information systems.


Responsibilities and Tasks :
 

  • Install Configure & Maintain Servers
  • Install, Configure, & Maintain Server-Side Applications
  • Assist the Systems Administrator in supporting users and systems with technical support as needed.
  • Provide setup, installation, configuration, operation and support of desktop hardware, software, networking/cabling infrastructure and voice system.
  • Provide support to company employees requiring technical assistance related to hardware and software.
  • Log and document support/resolution tickets.
  • Provide setup, installation, configuration, operation and support of desktop hardware, software, networking/cabling infrastructure and voice system.
  • Ensure that customers get the full functionality of our web sites, and information content is up to date & valid.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and discretion, and responding to questions, comments and complaints from internal and external customers in a calm, professional manner.
  • Willing and able to assist users and maintain systems evenings and weekends when necessary.


Required Skills and Competencies :
 

  • Experience in:
    • OS: Linux, Windows 2000, XP, 2003.
    • Server Side Applications/Services (DHCP, ADS, IIS, MSSQL/MySQL Exchange, VMWare, Postfix, Apache, Nagios).
    • Applications: MS Office, Symantec Corporate Antivirus, Symantec Ghost installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Ability to provide help desk support, troubleshoot and ensure resolution.
  • Experience with HTML and basic Web Design.
  • Experience with basic networking concepts, standards, and knowledge of LAN/Telecom wiring.
  • Knowledge LAN, Proxy Servers, Networking, Network Hardware Configuration, Network Maintenance, Network Performance Tuning, Network Troubleshooting.
  • Maintains internet connectivity by monitoring IP equipment/software.
  • Strong Problem solving ability.
  • Strong communication skills with a desire to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Multi-tasking capabilities and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
  • Bilingual hands-on professional.
  • Team Player.


Technical and Professional Competencies :
 

  • 4+ years experience in a similar role within the web, client/server, and LAN environment.
  • Technical certification, DEC degree in Computer/Information Science or Bachelor in Computer Science Information Technology.
